What it does

The Compact Model Nipper, in three points

  1. Smaller frame

The whole tool is a little smaller than our RM1.0 and RM3.0.

  2. Frosted handles

The matte grips do not slide in the fingers.

  3. Soft spring

A spring with moderate rebound reopens the jaws without tiring the hand.

At the bench

A first model kit does not call for an expensive cutter. This nipper gives the single-blade cut at the lowest price in our range. The blade is chromium-vanadium steel and meets a flat jaw, so parts come off with a smooth face and little whitening. The frosted handles suit a child's grip as well as an adult's.

Check before you buy

  • This is a first nipper, or a spare.
  • The user has small hands or is a child building with an adult.
  • The plastic is ordinary kit plastic.

Limits

Pick another one if

It is a starter tool. Builders who trim hundreds of parts will notice the thinner, finer blades on RM3.0 and RM5.0. Do not use it on metal, glass-fiber reinforced plastic or hardened resin, which damage the edge.

    Every miniature hobbyist dream

This is what I have been looking for. I have been using Citadel and another one without any serious effect in removing pieces of miniatures from sprues. At least, until I bought these pair. After using this on two miniatures sets of sprues to great effect and much greater success. The cuts were clean, smooth, and quick with little pressure needed. So far it seems well built and durable for my needs and the weight is light enough to be too inconvenient. This tool makes it easy for me to be able to get the results I need without the hassle of the poor quality tools I have been using.

    Great for plastic model cutting.

Work great for their intended purpose. I haven't had them long but they are sharp and seem like they are gonna hold up well.
