What it does
The 10 Inch Ryoba Saw, in three points
Graduated rip teeth
The coarse edge runs from 6 to 10 TPI along the blade, so the cut starts easy and then moves fast.
18 TPI for finish cuts
The fine edge leaves a smooth face on crosscuts and joinery.
Blade comes off
A knob releases the SK5 blade from the handle for storage or travel.

At the bench
This is the saw for boards. Ten inches of blade take a long stroke, and the pull action keeps the thin steel straight. Start a rip near the handle, where the teeth are finer, then use the whole length. Turn the saw over for the 18 TPI edge when you cut across the grain or want a clean shoulder. At 22.44 in overall it reaches into the middle of a wide panel.
Check before you buy
- You cut boards, panels and larger joints.
- You have room for a 22 in saw in your tool roll or drawer.
- For flush trimming in tight spots, add the 6 in saw.
Limits
Pick another one if
It is long for small joinery. In a tight corner or on a dowel, the 6 in saw is easier to steer. The handle is plastic, not beech. If you want both sizes, the two-saw set pairs a 6 in and a 10 in blade.

Definitely the "sharpest tool" in the shed!!!
Very sharp and smooth!!! This is an excellent pull saw for many home projects!! It was easy to put together and the way you can disassemble the saw part from the handle makes it easier to store. The size is perfect for almost any project you're tackling. It's very sturdy even with one hand you can slice through effortlessly!! We used it to shorten counter height chair legs, and the cut was easy and end result was smooth and we achieved very level results because of the ease of use. The price for this particular kind of saw is an incredible value, especially when you think of the quality of job it performs. It really is a precision pull saw. My husband has been wanting one for awhile but not only does he use, but I (his wife) use it with ease as well when I don't want to wait for him!! Excellent purchase, so glad to have this in our "tool box".
Quality saw
Well made, works very well for both fine woodworking as well as carpentry work.I have traveled the country and I always tell my wife I am bringing my small carpenter's bag with me. That small bag of essential tools and a cordless drill/driver have traveled the country as we have visited friends and family and without exception we have done very small, and more in a few cases, repairs or projects at our stops. You don't need a lot but the Japanese double sided hand saw is an essential tool and this is very nice and affordable. 5 stars!
