Choosing Single-Blade Model Nippers: RM1.0, RM3.0, RM5.0
A single blade leaves a cleaner gate than two. The grade tells you how thin the blade is and how gently to use it.
Why one blade
Two-blade cutters squeeze plastic from both sides. The plastic stretches before it parts and turns pale. A single-blade nipper has one sharp edge and one flat jaw. The edge passes through and stops on the flat.
The cut face comes out smooth, with less of the white stress mark that shows through paint.
Three grades
RM1.0 is the starter, in purple. RM3.0, in orange, has a thinner blade sharpened by hand and curved for small parts. RM5.0, in red, has a second grind for the final trim.
The table lists them with the compact gray nipper, which is smaller and costs the least.

Cut twice
Free the part with a first cut that leaves a little gate. Then lay the flat jaw against the part and trim the nub. The blade does less work on each cut and lasts longer.
Use your toughest cutter for the first cut and your finest for the second.
What the blade cannot take
Thin blades chip. Keep them to model plastic. RM5.0 is rated for PS, PP, ABS and PE up to 3 mm. Clear parts, thick runners and anything metal belong to another tool.
Store the nipper closed, with its cover on if it has one.
